A beam cannot be judged in daylight. We set fixtures during the day and return after dark to aim every one of them, adjusting angle and distance until the subject reads the way it should.
Tyler holds an Inlite outdoor lighting certificate alongside his CMHA and Belgard credentials. Beam spread, colour temperature and voltage drop are specified rather than guessed.
Fixtures are set so frost movement does not shift their aim, and positioned clear of where snow gets piled. A light buried under a snowbank in January is a light you paid for and cannot use.
Aim is checked from the street, from your windows and from your neighbour's side of the fence. Good uplighting is invisible until you look at what it hits.
Tyler is on every project. The person choosing where each fixture sits is the same person who designed the beds, walls and trees it is lighting.
Our warranty covers the installation: the buried runs, connections, transformer and fixture setting. Fixtures carry their own manufacturer warranty, and we tell you which covers what before you spend a dollar.
Directional uplights on adjustable stakes handle trees and shrubs, where aim needs to change as the plant grows. Flush mounted well lights go into paving and lawn where nothing can sit above grade. Wash fixtures cover broad facades and walls.
A narrow spot puts light thirty feet up a trunk without spilling. A wide flood covers a spruce or a stone wall evenly. Getting the pairing right is what stops a yard looking like a parking lot. Warm colour temperature keeps brick, cedar and stone looking like themselves.
You call or send a form with your project scope and location. Tyler or a team member responds within one business day with questions and preliminary guidance. If it sounds like a fit, we book a site visit.
Tyler walks the property with you and identifies what deserves light: mature trees, a stone facade, a retaining wall, a feature boulder. Fixture types, beam spreads and transformer location are decided on site, with samples available.
A detailed line-item proposal covers labour, fixtures, transformer, wire and any hardscape work, with a layout plan included. Once approved, we lock in a confirmed start date and order materials.
Wire is buried at depth through bed lines rather than under sod, connections are sealed, and the transformer is sized with headroom for zones you may add later. Fixtures are set in their planned positions.
We return after dark and aim every fixture, checking from the street, your windows and the neighbouring property. Timer is set, the system is walked with you, the warranty is explained, and the project is closed.
Tell us about your project and we will help you figure out if Genesis is the right fit. No pressure, just an honest conversation about your space and your goals.
