We strip and excavate the bed area rather than slicing a shape out of the lawn. That removes the grass and roots that otherwise creep straight back through your edging, and it gives us the depth to build soil properly underneath.
A bed is only as good as the edge holding it. We install edging suited to the situation, from paving stone borders that match your patio to buried steel and aluminum, so the line you approve is the line you still have in five years.
Red River clay compacts hard and holds water. We amend soil for drainage and structure so roots can establish, and set the bed grade so water moves through rather than sitting and rotting what you planted.
We use landscape fabric under decorative rock, where it earns its place. We generally do not put it under mulch, because within two seasons weeds seed in the mulch above it anyway and the fabric only stops your soil from improving. Most contractors will not tell you that.
Tyler Abraham is not a project manager in an office. He is physically on site at every project, setting bed lines by eye against the patio, the house and the sight lines. Bed shape is a design decision, not a measurement.
We do not double-book crews or chase volume. Each project gets the full team's attention. If your timeline is unrealistic, Tyler will tell you and decline the work rather than compromise the result.
Bed lines are laid out on site against the house, patio and sight lines, then excavated to depth and shaped. Edging is selected for how the bed meets its surroundings, whether that is a paving stone border tying into your patio or a clean buried edge against lawn.
Soil amended for clay ground so roots establish, drainage set so water moves away, and a finish chosen for the bed rather than by default. Mulch feeds the soil and suits planting beds. Decorative rock lasts far longer and suits low-planting and foundation beds.
You call or submit a form with your project scope and location. Tyler or a team member responds within one business day with questions and preliminary guidance. If it sounds like a fit, we move to a site visit.
Tyler visits the site, assesses your grade, drainage, exposure and how the yard is used. He takes precise measurements and photographs, and bed lines, edging type and mulch or rock finish are discussed in person with samples available.
A detailed line-item proposal covers all labour, soil, edging, fabric, mulch or rock and plant material, with a layout plan included. Once approved, we lock in a confirmed start date and order materials.
Bed lines are marked out on site for you to see and approve before anything is dug. The beds are then excavated to depth, grass and roots removed, grade and drainage set, and the edging installed to hold the line.
Amended soil goes in, planting is set at proper depth, and the bed is finished with mulch or decorative rock over fabric where suitable. Tyler then walks the finished beds with you, explains the warranty, and provides the watering and care guidance before the project is closed.
