We plant material that survives Manitoba, not whatever looked good on a garden centre shelf in May. Winter hardiness, mature size, exposure and salt tolerance near driveways all get considered before anything goes in the ground.
The root flare stays visible. Planting too deep is the most common reason trees fail slowly in residential yards, and it is entirely avoidable. We set every tree and shrub at proper grade and backfill without burying the trunk.
Beds are excavated and built as part of the project, with drainage considered and soil amended for clay ground. That is a different job than carving a shape out of the lawn and dropping plants into it.
Planting is planned alongside the patio, walls, rock and lighting, so bed lines follow the design, mature sizes are accounted for, and nothing is planted where it will be crowded or in the way in five years.
Tyler Abraham is not a project manager in an office. He is physically on site at every project, setting bed lines, checking depth and placing every specimen tree by eye. Placement is a design decision, not a labour task.
We do not double-book crews or chase volume. Each project gets the full team's attention. If your timeline is unrealistic, Tyler will tell you and decline the work rather than compromise the result.
Shade and ornamental trees for scale, shrubs for structure and screening, evergreens for winter presence, and ornamental grasses for movement and late-season colour. Everything selected for prairie hardiness, mature size and the exposure of the spot it is going into.
Beds are excavated, shaped and built with soil amended so roots can actually establish in clay ground. Edging holds the bed line, and a mulch or decorative rock finish keeps moisture in and weeds down.
You call or submit a form with your project scope and location. Tyler or a team member responds within one business day with questions and preliminary guidance. If it sounds like a fit, we move to a site visit.
Tyler visits the site, assesses your soil, drainage, sun and wind exposure and the sight lines you want screened. He takes precise measurements and photographs, and bed lines, plant selection and mature sizes are discussed in person.
A detailed line-item proposal covers all labour, plant material, soil, edging and mulch or rock, with a layout plan included. Once approved, we lock in a confirmed start date and source the plant material.
Beds are excavated and shaped, grade and drainage are set so water moves away rather than sitting in the bed, and soil is amended for the clay underneath. Edging is installed to hold the line.
Trees and shrubs are placed, turned for their best face and set at proper depth with the root flare visible, then backfilled, watered in and finished with mulch or decorative rock. Tyler then walks the finished beds with you, explains the warranty, and provides the watering schedule the plants need to establish.
Tell us about your project and we will help you figure out if Genesis is the right fit. No pressure, just an honest conversation about your space and your goals.
